Saturday was a pleasant day. Especially after the weather over the long weekend. Decided to watch our grandson play junior footy in Jan Juc, & follow this with a picnic lunch in Torquay.
What to have??? There were a few options, but fish & chips won out in the end.
We ordered a piece of fish each, & medium chips. With chicken salt, instead of plain salt.
The fillet of fish was nice & thick, the batter thin & crisp. Both the fish, & chips were golden in colour. & hot. Couldn't have asked for more.
We parked our car in the park car park for free. Even though it was busy, parking was reasonably easy, & we walked to the fish shop.
Service was quick & efficient. & we were soon eating. Surprisingly, we didn't have to share our lunch with seagulls! Total cost of our order came in @ $30.80.

I arrived just after opening, and the town was quiet as everyone was at the sports oval for a music festival. The lovely staff welcomed and chatted while our order was put together. It seemed in the blink of an eye, our food was ready and we went out the front to sit at a table and benches and soak up some sun, while we filled our bellies. The chips were nice and crispy (how I love them) the flake was still moist and tender inside the batter, the potato cakes were light and fluffy, and the burger was a perfect example of why fish 'n chip shop burgers are the best.

Great find, we were a group of 8 on our way to 12 apostles, thought about taking a short break at wonderful Torquay beach, and for lunch we found this little gem right in the middle of city central, welcoming staff and quality food certainly makes our day, yes.. we will be coming back next time🥰..
